Organic Foods, Fat People, Global Warming, Buiding a wall in Scotland?...Something is wrong with this picture.

Us portly folk should be dead. That's if you read everything about diet and the effects of fat and sugar and baloney and hot dogs and nitrites and red meats and white flour and Twinkies and Spam. We shouldn't have made it past 30 if you buy what they're selling. Life and Health insurance rates are rated based on poundage versus some ideal specs put out in the 1950's when life expectancy was in the 60's. To me that seems unfair and downright discriminatory!
Good grief, if I hear the word organic in reference to food again I will unwrap a Twinky and leave it on a table in a high school biology lab! It will outlast us all with its moist, cream filled sponge cake sitting there glistening...this eating organic crap has to end!
Back in the good old days all the food was (beware...sweeping generality being used without verification) organic. It was grown locally and went to regional open markets or grocery stores in towns and cities. You wanted a navel orange in December? You had better have a relative bring you one from their tree in Boca Raton!
Now I won't say what they used as a natural fertilizer back then (like animal poop or worse) but it was organic. So if what they ate was so good for you and what we eat is so bad why the hell did they only expect to make it to 60 and we are hitting the 80's, 90's and beyond? Now I realize I could bite the big one after or while I am writing this tome, but does it make sense to you? I mean skinny and pudgy folks were seen as senile and considered to be geezers at 60! Mandatory retirement at 62! WTF gives here?
When I played Willie in Neil Simon's Sunshine Boys he was befuddled and confused in his sixties. Was he early stage Alzheimer's? Never said that in character notes...nope just a geezer past his prime. Why don't I feel past my prime? I might look past my prime...ok I definitely look past my prime whenever that was, but the brain and desire to continue to experience new and revisit old things is as strong or stronger than ever. Sorry for the side trip, anyway...organic=titanic ripoff!
My God! I used sodium saccharin, ate beef and hot dogs and pasta (NYC Italian) with red sauce and veggies from the can with salt and drank diet soda with a known carcinogen (debunked) my entire life! Why am I using the past tense? I still use sweetener. I am still a pudge and eat more than I should of "regular " foods but I am still here and over half way through my supposed dotage. The organic movement has got to be a racket.
All the books, studies, warnings and scare tactic used to support the Organic Myth are used to perpetuate a multi billion dollar industry. This isn't farmer Fudd on his putt putt tractor plowing the north 40 in order to bring you fresh fruit and veggies. Fudd went bankrupt years ago and his north 40 is part of Agricorp's 40,000 acres which itself could be less than 10% of their producing farm land.
Don't get me wrong. I am not doing a scientific study nor am I claiming to have the answers. I only ask is needing to eat Organic food to live longer and better lives like heeding warnings regarding Global Warming?
What a jump, huh? Making the leap from people living longer to organic food myths and now to melting ice caps! WTF is up with this idiot?!
Think about it! Remember the hole in the ozone? Too young? Ok. Scientists were screaming that fluorocarbons were ripping up the ozone (for those bad at geography that is the protective layer up in the sky keeping the sun's harmful rays from toasting us or making us sick). No more hair spray or aerosol deodorants and on and on allowed on store shelves. But how do you stop exhaust from cars and, my favorite, bovine methane (Yes, that's cow farts.) from wreaking havoc? Why do you think your gas mileage sucks? Mandatory emission  control systems became law. As for the cows...I have no idea. They had scientific proof the ozone was getting dangerously thin in areas and that we were doing the damage ourselves. We were DOOMED! Surprised you haven't heard about this? Well after a few years they found that the thin spots repaired themselves and it all died down to a quiet footnote.
The entire world is convinced that Global Warming is for real and the potential for catastrophic geophysical change threatens the globe. Every major power on earth has agreed to band together and fight to prevent its eventual dire outcome...save one. Guess who? The smartest man on earth has deemed there is no global warming and that what was once the most powerful influence for good in the world will not participate. The United States president says it's a hoax and he won't waste money on a fools errand. There are more important things to do with that money...on the border...in the south...Mexico?
Funny thing is, I came across a BBC story that said Trump's property management team for one of his  golf courses on the coast of Great Britain requested a sea wall be built to protect it. One of their reasons was the threat of the sea rising due to (you guessed it) global warming.
So who should you believe? What should you do?
I say eat, drink and make merry for tomorrow someone will hide the cheese (book reference) and you won't  know any more than you do now.  Eat what you feel is best for you. Look down on no one for their weight. When it come to organic foods remember that it starts out as food but ends up as the chemical nutrients your body needs. Chemistry. Global Warming? Should you ignore it? Probably not. Better to pay attention and do what needs be done rather than spend 100+ days on a golf course telling us how stupid the rest of the world is is for doing so.
I need a Twinkie....

  1. Great job! I agree with you on all points and yes, I do, in fact remember the whole "ozone layer" scare (great point)!! The thing is -- a) all by design and b) ALWAYS follow the money. Again, good stuff! I look forward to reading on the regular!!!
