Welcome to My 50th Post! It's About Offspring

Milestones! Wow! 50 posts read around the world by veeerrry few people...considering the billions of souls that habit the joint. Now, of course there are probably over a third who don't read or write and even more who can't understand English (much less disentangle my ramblings) and even more who don't have access to the internet and even more without a computer or the electricity needed to pop on a light bulb...so I'm not complaining.

Also, my prose inspires no expectation of a Peabody Award, nor a Nobel Prize, nor even a third place win in the Mount Cedar Fundamental School Spelling B. Nope. Just the rambling mind of a rather gassy, long in the tooth, semi-literate, reasonably self starting (if not pompous) retired person with the "gift" of gab, who expects every word tapped into the "webisphere" to give birth to cultured pearls of wisdom. I did say pompous, didn't I?

Enough about me (as if there ever could be...) and on to my latest topic. Offspring!

Don't panic kids. I am referencing Netflix's 7 seasons of the hit Aussie dramedy credited with spawning the US hit series The Mindy Project.

Offspring is often times the hilarious, sweet, poignant and painful to watch, reason to make time to step into the world of the Proudman family.

She handles the multifaceted character with a deftness that belies the fact she's acting. The show is filled with great music, humor, drama and omnipresent romantic angst throughout (at times it can become somewhat exhausting but the payoff makes it worth the effort). Ms Keddie is a treasure to watch as she deftly sifts through, flights of fancy we see through her seemingly hallucinogenic imagination, the emotional wreckage of her love life, her ability to handle bringing new life into the world via her job as a doctor of obstetrics and the interaction with her fractured parents and not quite normal siblings. The girl can handle a pratfall or two for the sake of comic relief. She's brilliant as is the rest of the cast. And guess what? There's no subtitles! Although, with some Oz shows you might be better off if there is.

If you were a fan of Mindy, you might want to take a peek here at the series from which it was begat. I have watched the first three series and am on a hiatus before I launch into season 4. It is difficult to keep my hand from pressing the button and asking Alexa to play the next episode, but I will remain strong...unless the temperature exceeds 90 degrees again. If so...all bets are off.

So now the first 50 are in the can...figuratively. I want to thank the folks who have made this effort not as sad as it could be if no one was reading the blog. I also would like to thank my brain for the never-ending stream of stuff I need to filter and edit prior to speaking (or writing). In these political times it is difficult to keep myself from railing at the dolts who have come to power and seem bound and determined to...NOPE! The filter just kicked in. See you next time.
