Recap and PMTSS or Lack of inspiration during times of duress...

I am back. Don't get all yappy...or cheer madly at my return. It has been a stressful time and sometimes inspiration seems to evaporate when troublesome things reach their peak of freshness.

Yes, I am referring to both of the PMTSSes. Pre Midterm Election Stress Syndrome and Post Midterm Stress Syndrome.

It matters not which party or fool...candidate you aligned yourself with you probably suffered PMTSS and may still be under its influence. Amazingly there is no known cure for this malady.

Symptoms can surface both before and after the elections and range from utter moral outrage to hysterical laughing to weeping in public to claiming victory when all is lost or a myriad of other serious psychological responses.

Logically, with the incredible amount of fecal matter being slung in all directions in every state and district, it is no wonder one can become ill from all the rhetorical virus flooding the atmosphere.
Since 2016 more poop has been flung than was seen in all the Planet of the Apes movies. Remember? The apes proved to be the intelligent ones? The constant barrage of balderdash, lies, half truths, campaign ads, pollsters, robo calls, alternate facts, claims of unfair press coverage, porn queens, indicted White House and campaign workers, emails destroyed, underestimating rurals, overestimating polls and the list goes on and on...drains the brain and eventually melts down the will to live...here...PMTSS.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world (of course Canada is nice and I really love parts of Germany and Italy) except during election season. What little dignity we had left as a nation has been covered in slime and left hanging on Lady Liberty's torch for the world to see.

We, the bastions of freedom and the land of immigrants, have become the laughingstock of the free world. I am not saying we were loved previously. Ms Clinton under OB and the Bush father and son along with others had a hand in that. But after almost 60 years, generations of Americans and Europeans do not remember nor care what we did to help win the war against fascism and imperialism. As a result of our recent capitulation as leaders of the free world and our return to near wartime nationalism, a bitter taste has been left in the mouths of those who have been our allies for over a century. We definitely needed to pull back and tend to our own garden, but not at the expense of the rest of the world. It's not about dollars and cents. It's about a lack of willingness to take into account the will of the millions who don't ascribe to  the administration's world view. Who are we to dismiss and/or push aside those who disagree? For the love of God who in their right mind picks on Canada? Oh...right. Sorry.

From the preceding paragraphs you might be able to tell I am still in the grip of PMTSS and probably should continue my self prescribed therapy...two shots Single Malt (not top shelf) after dinner and at bedtime until all recounts are counted and winners are confirmed. I don't believe the therapy will cure me, only time can do that, but at least I won't watch any more CNN, Fox or MSNBC, or read the newspapers or click on political posts on Facebook or watch national news or late night with Fallon or Kimmel or listen to talk radio, or....
Forget it. Where's my shot glass?
