SHOULD WOMEN RULE THE WORLD? Can They? Will they? Do They?

I LOVE WOMEN. I do. Ever since they came out of the closet it has become more and more obvious who should be wearing the pants around the house both figuratively and globally.
As I have probably insulted someone somewhere either by saying women should hold the power or using the term out of the closet which normally refers to gay folk "coming out",  some explanation is required.

For you who still believe women should remain unschooled, barefoot, pregnant, at home and in the kitchen, I believe your best bet for dating isn't a site like Tinder, but attending certain political party rallies could help you get lucky (Of course it could result in either an arranged or automatic weapon/shotgun wedding.).

Coming out of the closet had nothing to do with lesbians but refers to women deciding the status quo cannot be maintained and began to fight for their rightful place in society. It wasn't the femdom movement nor the Me Too (more about that later) statements. It started decades ago and continues today with those "movements" as a part of the whole. This is about women.

Did I say that I love women? Well, I do...just not all women and not in the same way. There are and have been too few Thatchers and Merkels in the world. Powerful women liked by some, reviled by others, who did and continue to stand up for their countries by boldly challenging their male counterparts to political combat on the world stage.  But I imagine there were and are lots of gals out there with the potential and grit to take their places and knock the good old boy network on it's ass.

When I was growing up it was home economics for the girls and metal shop for the boys. Moms stayed at home while dad worked. Her aspirations were (supposedly) to find a husband, buy a house with a white picket fence, a dog and have two kids...hopefully a matched set. We were sold on that as the American dream...for girls. They might've told them they could be anything they wanted, but the psychological browbeating was in full swing at the subliminal level. The same brainwashing technique was hammering little boys with the sexual identities of protector, provider and King of the American home. With that everyday propaganda sweetly hidden in toys as well as observing the hierarchy in their own homes, the perpetuation of the order of the sexes was supposedly preserved for generations to come.

Things really began to change in the mid to late 1960's. Women started to crack the proverbial closet door open and perhaps nudge a toe or two outside into the light. That was my generation. Tune out, baby! Free Love was everywhere. Bras were gone as was most underwear for guys and gals. Peace and Love, Man!

The older generation believed sexuality should never be revealed in public. (Beware! Sweeping generalities about to appear!) According to my sources there was no such thing as oral sex. Or if there was they never heard about it. Homosexuality was, even if it existed, non existent. The Missionary position was the only "approved" position. (How it got that name I really want to know. I want to meet that missionary! He must have some incredible tales. In my mind I see him as a Frenchman...possibly a defrocked friar who came up with a scam of traveling from noble house to noble house teaching the ladies the only position blessed by the Pope. He was Le Missionaire de Amour sanctioned by the Pope and the Almighty! You can be sure he met the Guillotine smiling. There ends my reverie).
After talking to some family members in that generation I wondered how we even came into existence. The only possible conclusion left had to be via immaculate conception.Who knew? I don't feel any different.

Each subsequent generation believes sex became open for women in their heyday. It's like taking control over the bedroom is equal to a win in emancipation?  Boy, someone is missing the boat. Each generation lays claim to being free and in control of their lives whatever their aspirations.
Whew! Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees! It's not about sex.

Women have been free to believe whatever they want, however men have been in control of everything so their success or failure continues under the thumb of the perpetrators of the myth.

Though many things have changed over the decades and there are more women in places of power as CEO's or business owners and even in government, there are only a few that have achieved those positions (many through being promoted by members of the opposite sex). With over 150 million women in the country you would think there would be more. Perhaps the brainwashing continues but in more subtle forms.

As to my questions...should women rule the world? No one should rule the world and certainly not based on gender. If you are qualified and want the job (though you would have to be crazy) I say go for it. Hitler had aspirations as did Napoleon and look what it got them.

The most certainly could rule the world if they were able to bring all women together into the light. The Me Too movement has given a voice to those who were abused physically, sexually, mentally or any combination or all of the above. It isn't an empowerment vehicle (in my humble opinion). Thousands of women have chimed in and have admitted to having been abused as some point in their lives. I believe most have endured some trauma at the hands of men. One must be careful  when offering an open microphone and a platform on which to use it. There is a danger of misuse that can result in additional pain and suffering as well as damage the validity and lower esteem for those who lend their voices to it. The Weinsteins, Cosby's and even unnamed high political figures should be jailed if convicted and the laws need to be changed and upheld so they will. Harassment is no joke whether on the job or anyplace else. Women must feel they can come forward and not be mistreated by family as well as police. Me Too is no joke.

Do they rule the world? No but many probably rule the men who rule.

Will they? Not any time soon. Women have more power than ever before but little has changed where it matters. World leaders...only a few. Leaders of nations...a few more. The seats of real power are coveted by those sitting in them like season tickets used to be for the Washington Redskins. Tickets for seats were part of one's inheritance. There were none left to sell with a waiting list stretching 6 years. It was amazing. (Not that way anymore unfortunately.) They will protect those positions of power and pick their successors as if monarchs passing on their crowns.

I would like to see it happen in what's left of my lifetime. We don't need a Hillary here but we probably could use a Merkel. Don't be afraid of menopausal women or women with cramps from their monthly visitor, or those that are pregnant and breast feeding and certainly keep your mouth shut when a bad hair day is in evidence. You just gotta know how to go with the flow. A lady president would be cool. Give me the right candidate with the right platform planks and the drive to make the nation and the world a better place and I am in. If it happens to be a woman...did I mention that I love women?
